Frog in a Well (Short Film)

A Korean-American in Seoul stumbles through language, culture, and connection in this slice-of-life short.

Set against the hills of Itaewon, “Frog in a Well” is a tender, humorous slice-of-life short about language, belonging, and the awkwardness of finding connection far from home. Andy and I met up with a loose plan and let most of the scenes unfold naturally, relying on improvisation and light direction. Though the story is simple and somewhat unserious, it reflects both of our experiences as Korean-Americans navigating a language gap while reconnecting with a motherland that feels both familiar and foreign.
