As pictured above in the banner, ilovecreatives is a digital classifieds for creatives, as well as a space for slashies to connect online. Consider it a new-age Craigslist that offers digital courses, free tools, and regular updates what's going on in a creative community near you.
What I love about ilovecreatives (heh)—aside from the design—is that it's way more niche and vetted than sites like Craigslist. (I mean, it's no secret that Craigslist is useful but also a tad sketchy at times, let's be honest). That's why I'm a fan of ilovecreatives; it's a much safer platform for creatives to find jobs, connect with other professionals, and post their services online.
Plus, it's more than just a curation of quality jobs and services. You'll find ads for:
events and workshops
and other rad announcements.
I recommend introducing yourself on ilovecreatives if you're in the process of growing a brand or getting the word out about your side hustle. By paying a one-time application fee and submitting what's called a "Creative Profile," you'll have the chance to showcase your projects to other like-minded creatives (i.e. future collaborators) or anyone that needs help in your area of expertise. (Check out my profile here!)
As the people at ilovecreatives will tell you, "When someone reads your profile, we want it to feel like they just grabbed a cortado with you and totally get it." You never know who might come across your profile! So make sure to write in your authentic voice.
Once you're accepted, you'll get "exposure in the Creative Profiles directory, SEO for your website, and profile updates" (should you choose to make changes).
If you'd like to submit an application for a Creative Profile, here's how to do it:
Click my link HERE.*
At the top of the page, hover over "2. CREATIVES" and click on "POST YOUR PROFILE" in the dropdown menu.
Click the blue button that says "APPLY NOW."
On the checkout page, fill out your purchase information.
After you pay the fee, you'll be directed to a profile application link. (Apparently, the link expires in 24 hours.)
Finish your creative profile and hit submit. (TIP: Type out your answers in a separate document before sending the app!)
*This is an affiliate link, which means that if you click through it to make a purchase, I get a commission at no extra cost to you. Be sure to click on my name or "OTHER" so that they know I referred you. Would really appreciate it! :)
Once you submit your application, you'll receive an email from one of the community managers from ilovecreatives. They'll notify you of any revisions that need to be made and send you a draft of the profile before publishing.
All in all, the application process is an easy one and your profile should be posted within a week of applying.
If you haven't checked out the classifieds on ilovecreatives, I encourage you to give it a try. It's a great way to put yourself out there and to learn about new opportunities in your field!
